The total financial contributions provided by the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment to the administrative units in the governorates so far amounted to 44.323 billion pounds, distributed over 134 areas to complete infrastructure works, pay establishment expenses and expropriation allowances for new industrial and craft areas, and rehabilitate areas affected by terrorism.
Director of Services and Industrial Cities at the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment, Engineer Mayada Ahmed indicated, in a statement to SANA reporter, that the total number of industrial and craft areas being tracked by the ministry in all governorates is 162 industrial and craft areas, comprising 73,440 industrial and craft divisions, providing more than 52 thousand job opportunities, and 38,889 were allocated So far, 4340 units are under construction and 10996 units are under production.
According to Ahmed, the industrial and artisanal areas are distributed in Quneitra governorate 3 areas, Daraa 11 areas, As-Suwayda 15, Damascus 6, Rural Damascus 23, Homs 22, Hama 14, Tartous 14, Lattakia 7, Idlib 17, Aleppo 14, Raqqa 3, and Deir Ezzor 6 and in Hasaka 7.
It is noteworthy that 16 new industrial and craft zones have been created since 2016, distributed in the governorates of Damascus countryside, Lattakia, Tartous, Quneitra, Homs and Hama.
