The Syrian Investment Authority granted an investment license for a project to manufacture all kinds of chargers, tablets, charging connections, data transmission, loudspeakers, power banks, feeding units of all kinds, and inverters in the industrial city of Adra in the countryside of Damascus.
The cost of the project is estimated at 17.5 billion Syrian pounds, according to the director of the Syrian Investment Authority, Madian Diab, noting that the project is the first of its kind in Syria and provides 300 job opportunities.
In a statement to SANA, Diab pointed out that the project aims to localize this industry locally to meet the needs of the market and reduce the import bill, noting that the inverter is among the materials targeted by the program to replace imports alternatives launched by the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade.
The number of projects that were granted investment permits in accordance with Investment Law No. 18 issued in May last year reached 31 projects worth 1.3 trillion Syrian pounds and provide about 2575 job opportunities, which are various industrial, food, chemical, renewable energy, pharmaceutical, textile and services projects in the governorates of Damascus countryside, Hama, Homs, Lattakia and Aleppo and Sweida.
