The fees collected by the General Directorate of Real Estate Interests since the start of the implementation of Law 17 of 2021 regarding the unification of real estate fees according to the popular values of real estate amounted to 34,034.112 billion Syrian pounds, while the number of completed contracts so far reached more than 1.303 million contracts.
The Director General of Real Estate Departments, Engineer Waddah Qatmawi, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that Law 17 contributed to the unification of real estate fees in specific and clear ratios based on the adoption of the popular value of real estate as the sole basis for calculating fees.
Regarding the services provided after the creation of the Specialized Citizen Service Center in the Directorate, Qatmawi said that the center provides automated real estate registration services and electronic messaging for real estate registration for the governorate of Damascus and the countryside of Damascus, pointing out that the number of completed requests reached 107,570, while the number of requests for the alphabetical index service related to real estate reached 2,605 requests. Attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 1188 requests for a statement of completed area, 3831 requests.
During the past year, the General Directorate of Real Estate Services completed a digitization process for more than 540 thousand real estate newspapers out of 4.3 million newspapers in all governorates. The digitization included the governorates of Damascus, Damascus Countryside, Lattakia, Sweida, Tartous, Hama, Homs and Daraa.
