How will it work?
The bank's customers will be able to join the new service free of charge, at the click of a button on the app and on the website or by contacting the banker.
Upon joining the service, the credit card will be automatically linked to the foreign currency account. If the customer does not hold such an account, it will be opened for him automatically and as mentioned, the relevant credit cards will be linked to him. Or when buying online on a foreign site - the foreign exchange account will be charged the purchase amount without a commission. If there is no balance in the foreign exchange account, the service will automatically convert from the shekel account to a conversion fee of 1.5%.
Joining the service does not depend on membership in a particular club and is available to the bank's private customers.
Shmulik Arbel, Head of Banking at Leumi
: "We are witnessing a significant return of Israelis to flights abroad, along with the continuation of the trend of online purchases at foreign sites.
Therefore, we decided to launch the new and advanced service for our customers.
The service is another tier in Leumi's convenience strategy.
It will
join a long line of digital services recently launched by Leumi, among the services launched in the past year: 'Digital credit card' - ordering a new credit card through the app and using the card immediately without The need to wait for the physical card to arrive in the mail; 'Mortgage in Zoom', which allows customers to have a personal consultation with Zoom Mortgage Bankers, and 'Digital Mortgage', which allows registration to work on a vehicle using the mobile device.
