Gas prices in Europe rose today for spot contracts to more than 1500 dollars per thousand cubic meters for the first time since last March.
The Russia Today website, citing data for the TTF index on the ICI Stock Exchange, stated that the nearest futures contracts for the month of June were traded at the level of $1,504 per thousand cubic meters of gas, compared to yesterday's trading, which closed at $1,368.
And German Economy Minister Robert Habeck announced earlier today that Germany is now facing a shortage of gas in light of a decrease in supplies from Russia due to technical difficulties on the gas pipeline (North Stream), calling on Germans and companies to reduce their gas consumption. The second phase of the government's emergency plan to confront the energy crisis.
