Products from the Iranian heritage in the bazaar (goodness brings us together) in Damascus

Damascus, SANA- The bazaar (Goodness Brings Us Together) has allocated a portion of its exhibits to Iranian heritage products, which varied between pieces of art.

The Bazaar (Goodness Brings Us Together) devoted a portion of its exhibits to Iranian heritage products, which varied between accessories made of mother-of-pearl and precious stones, paintings, covers and antiques decorated with Islamic motifs, at the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus.

The bazaar, which opened this evening and is organized by Lamset Hanan Charitable Development Association, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and the Iranian Embassy in Syria, aims to support families of orphans, dialysis patients, and women heads of families who came from various governorates to display their products. It also aims to promote cultural exchange between Syria and Iran.

In a press statement, the Assistant Minister of Tourism, Eng. Nidal Mashfaj, explained the importance of the bazaar in introducing and marketing the products of small and medium enterprises locally and abroad, especially those bearing a heritage character because they carry the identity of the country and contribute to strengthening the preservation of traditional handicrafts.

Dr. Rola Sibawi, head of activities and exhibitions at the Iranian Cultural Chancellery in Damascus, pointed out that the heritage products that the Iranian side participated in were made by a group of women who were keen to present the Iranian heritage from various regions, noting that with the aim of promoting cultural exchange and introducing the products of Syrian women, a number of women were invited. Syrian women to participate in an exhibition to be held next August in Tehran.

According to the organization of the three-day bazaar, Maram Al-Asha explained that it is an opportunity to support female breadwinners and empower them economically, indicating that the association is holding free vocational training courses targeting a number of women to teach sewing, hairdressing, soap making and accessories, in addition to providing them with financial support.

Regarding the participation of Al-Wafa Development Association in the bazaar, the director of the association, Ramal Saleh, indicated that the association’s exhibits included products from Al-Aghbani produced by 350 female breadwinners from Duma women in Damascus countryside, considering the participation to contribute to the revival of the Al-Aghbani craft and the marketing of their production.

From Hama, Ola Khader shares a variety of food products, including those for diabetics, which she prepares at home, stressing that bazaars and exhibitions contribute to increasing sales volumes, in addition to developing products continuously, while Hoda Rajab from the Damascus countryside pointed out that she inherited the Al-Aghbani craft from her mother 30 years ago. And the bazaar is a suitable opportunity to display and market its products on a larger scale, adding that the artisans of this craft are constantly developing them in colors and designs.
