Fuel prices: diesel remains at its highest, the SP95-E10 drops a little

2022-06-27T13:50:22.425Z

Last week, the liter of diesel cost an average of 2.13 euros, while the SP95-E10 was displayed at 2.04 euros. The government plans

A slight lull which will not relieve the portfolio of the French.

While since mid-May the price of diesel has continued to climb, it has stabilized.

According to data published by the government on Monday, it still cost an average of 2.13 euros per liter last week, like the week before.

The record reached in March, at 2.14 euros, could have been beaten, because on the wholesale markets prices are panicking.

But the slight drop in distribution costs made it possible to maintain the price displayed at the pump.

This is the only reason for satisfaction for motorists who run on diesel.

No need to look for a service station that displays less than two euros per litre: if we trust the official website prix-carburants.gouv.fr, among those which have recently updated their prices, there is no longer one. only !

Exorbitant prices are displayed throughout the territory.

In three Parisian stations, for example, diesel exceeds 2.50 euros per litre.

On the island of Yeu, not far from Sables-d'Olonne (Vendée), it is even close to 2.60 euros.

Otherwise, on the highway, good luck finding one for less than 2.20 euros.

TotalEnergies will have to make an extra effort

On the other hand, the SP 95-E10 fell a little, to 2.04 euros per liter on average last week.

Nevertheless, the shock is still just as important for households.

To cushion it, the government plans to extend the 18-cent discount until at least the end of August.

He also wants to strengthen the transport bonus for employees who use their vehicle to get to work.

Indeed, the draft law on purchasing power, which must be presented on July 6, provides for a doubling of the ceiling for tax and social exemption from the assumption by the employer of the fuel costs of its employees.

It would go from 200 to 400 euros.

This bonus could be combined with the payment by the employer of 50% of the price of public transport season tickets.

But “all the effort cannot rest solely on the State”, indicated Bruno Le Maire, the Minister of the Economy, this Monday morning on RMC / BFMTV.

The minister was due to meet the CEO of TotalEnergies, Patrick Pouyanné, on Monday to ask him to extend or increase the discount of 10 centimes per liter that he had put in place at his service stations.
