The 2022 edition of the G7, a summit bringing together the leaders of the seven most industrialized countries in the world (Germany, Canada, France, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States), is currently being held in Elmau, in the Bavarian Alps, until June 28.
A green for the group of politicians, including Emmanuel Macron, Boris Johnson, Joe Biden or Justin Trudeau, gathered to address (in particular) the issues of the war in Ukraine, food security, and the climate emergency.
Concerns of major importance, which earn them, each year, the support of their wives.
On the sidelines of major diplomatic discussions, however, the latter engage in many other activities during these few days.

Putin, absent
Russian President Vladimir Putin was not part of this major meeting this year.
Faced with his absence, Boris Johnson and his partners have cracked some mockery.
“Do we keep the jackets?
Do we take them off?
Can we undress?” quipped the British Prime Minister, referring to the shirtless poses that the Russian head of state took on images that have become famous.
More seriously, Joe Biden mainly announced, during this meeting, that an embargo on Russian gold would be put in place by all the G7 countries.
A strong decision and a symbolic gesture.
