New York-Sana
Oil prices fell about $2 a barrel today as an increase in gasoline and distillate inventories in the United States and worries about slowing economic growth around the world overshadowed persistent concerns about tight crude supplies.
Reuters reported that the international standard Brent crude contracts ended the maturity of the trading session as low as 1.72 dollars, or 1.5 percent, to record at a settlement of 116.26 dollars a barrel.
US West Texas Intermediate crude contracts fell $1.98, or 1.8 percent, to close at $109.78 a barrel.
