Volodin: The European Union's fiscal policy problems are getting worse

The head of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, stressed that the problems of the European Union's fiscal policy are likely to worsen, which could lead to a weakening of the euro and a return to the national currencies of the union countries.

Volodin pointed out in a post today on his private channel on the Telegram application that the euro area, which competes with the dollar, is weakening and the American resources are expensive to Europe, and these problems are constantly exacerbating, which may cause a crisis in the European Union as a result of weakening the euro and possibly a return to national currencies.

Volodin stressed that the ruble is supported by real goods and resources, which are things that cannot be lived without in the contemporary world, so the Russian currency is strengthening, adding at the same time that the situation with the euro is different, as the European Union is accustomed to living on debts that have reached a critical level for a number of European countries.

In a related context, the Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov stressed that the severing of economic relations with Russia by Western countries led by the United States of America led to the suffering of the economies of these same countries.

In a statement, Antonov said that the severing of economic relations with Russia and the restrictive measures are the cause of the global economic crisis, explaining that the measures taken by Western countries against Russia led to a decline in commercial activity, the destruction of transport and logistics chains, a slowdown in investment flows, in addition to problems in the labor market, which caused a decline. Antonov pointed to the fact that Washington itself suffers today from the embargo targeting Russia, noting that the growth of consumer prices in the United States has set a record, and that US partners are increasingly working on options to switch to settlements in other currencies.
