Gas prices in Europe rose today by about 5%, and blue fuel contracts exceeded the level of 1,600 dollars per thousand cubic meters, for the first time since the 10th of last March.
The Russia Today website stated that gas futures contracts rose on European stock exchanges by 5.4 percent to 1604.4 dollars per thousand cubic meters.
The price hike comes amid fears of disruptions to gas supplies from Russia.
