While the consumption of products from organic farming is taking a nosedive in France (- 1.3% in value in 2021), the Court of Auditors is alarmed by the lack of public support for this method of production without pesticides.
In a report analyzing public policies around organic farming for 20 years, the wise men of rue Cambon draw up a rather severe observation.
After proving by A + B the benefits of this mode of production on health and the environment, the report, made public on Thursday, deplores that
"in all areas, the action of the Ministry of Agriculture is not able to meet the stated ambitions
.
Namely that, this year, 15
%
of agricultural land is cultivated organically and that 20% of the food in public canteens is organic.
With respectively 10% of the agricultural area cultivated in organic farming, and 5 to 6% of AB labeled products in canteens, France is far from the mark.
Especially since Brussels aims for 25% of the land…
