They are called "Eco +" at Leclerc, "Tous les jours" at Casino or even "Price mini" at Système U. Distributor brands (MDD) called "economic", in the jargon of experts, which correspond to the products entry level, among the most basic therefore, that can be found on the shelves of supermarkets.
However, in this period of high inflation – the increase in food reached 5.7% in June over one year, according to provisional data from INSEE – these products stamped “first prices” are a hit.
