We all want to think we are moral and if we were to encounter such a dilemma we would choose to return the money - but would you really do it or choose to disappear with the "bonus"?

It’s always nice to get some extra on your paycheck, but one employee at a Chilean company last month received a pay raise he never even dared to dream about.
The local media reported that the anonymous employee at Consorcio Industrial de Alimentos, one of the largest sausage producers in the country, usually receives a salary of about 500,000 Chilean pesos (about 1,800 NIS - slightly above the local minimum wage) deposited directly into his account. Received on May 30, a malfunction in the company's human resources department resulted in him receiving directly to his bank account a check for 165,398,851 Chilean pesos (a huge sum of over 600,000 shekels), reports Diario Financiero from Santiago
.
What would you do in his situation?

He initially did the responsible act and contacted his manager to report the overpayment he had received, and then it was indeed discovered that this was a mistake by the human resources and payroll department.
The company then told him to go to his bank to return the money.
He promised to go there the next day.
And that's exactly what he did.
What he did not do, however, was return the money.
After three days of unanswered WhatsApp calls and messages, the company received a message from a lawyer representing the employee, who announced his resignation.
Since then, no one in the company has heard from him.
The company filed a list complaint with the police accusing the employee of embezzling funds, hoping to recover even some of the lost money, but so far it has not been located and no arrests have been made.
