Because of the setbacks of EDF's nuclear fleet, French electricity production will hit a low this winter.
To deal with this serious deficit, there are hardly any other solutions than to reduce consumption.
The bosses of the three French energy companies (Engie, EDF and TotalEnergies) called on companies and households at the end of June to reduce their consumption.
The government got down to it, and set a goal: to reduce France's energy needs by 10% in two years.
Working groups were convened last week.
“Efforts will be asked of all companies,
we confirm at the Ministry of Energy Transition.
Trade representatives should be received by the minister this week.
The aim each time is to find around ten measures to save energy.”
