Gas prices in Europe rose again and amounted to 1760 dollars per thousand cubic meters, after they were traded earlier today at the level of 1600 dollars per thousand cubic meters.
According to Russia Today, gas futures contracts for the month of August on the TTF index reached the level of 1760 dollars per thousand cubic meters of gas.
Gas contracts opened today's trading session at $1660.5 per thousand cubic meters of gas, but after a short period, prices fell to $1608.3, recording a decline of 12.1 percent.
Earlier today, Russia temporarily closed the gas pipeline to Europe via the "Northern Stream 1" for maintenance work.
It is worth noting that gas prices in Europe doubled within one month and were on the 10th of last month at the level of $903.8, but then jumped to the level of $1,300, and by the end of last month it approached the level of $1,600 and reached at the beginning of this month the level of $1,900 .
Gas prices in Europe recorded their highest level in history four months ago, as they reached on the 7th of last March the level of 3,892 dollars per thousand cubic meters of gas.
