Russia has “temporarily” closed the gas pipeline to Europe via “North Stream 1” for maintenance work.
The Russian RIA Novosti agency stated that the closure of the gas transmission line comes to carry out maintenance work during the period from this morning until the twenty-first of this month, and at a time when the European Union countries insist on imposing unprecedented sanctions on Russia, Germany, Austria and others have expressed their fears that gas supplies will decrease. Or stop via said pipeline after completion of maintenance.
Earlier, RIA Novosti indicated that Europe may face a sharp increase in the prices of “blue fuel” if the quantities of gas flowing through the “North Stream 1” are not transferred by alternative methods.
