Today, the euro fell to its lowest level in twenty years and approached the level of parity with the dollar, due to fears of recession in the region due to the energy crisis.
Reuters reported that the euro fell (1.29) percent to (1.0056) against the dollar, its weakest level since December 2002.
The dollar rose one percent against a basket of the main currency, bringing its index to (108.14), its strongest level since October 2002.
