Drivers of the Berlin express delivery service Gorillas could be divided into different groups in the future.
This is shown by the draft of a company agreement that the company recently handed over to the works council.
It is available to SPIEGEL.
It provides for the introduction of a kind of "priority boarding" among bicycle couriers.
In future, shifts would no longer necessarily be assigned by a dispatcher, but would be chosen by the drivers themselves during strict time windows.
Couriers who are among the fastest 25 percent of the workforce – so-called “high performers” – should be able to bypass these queues and get better appointments for shift planning.
Draft not yet decided
Attorney Martin Bechert, who represents the members of the works council, finds the proposal "asocial" - and symptomatic of the state of the company: "Anyone who cannot offer their drivers higher salaries introduces a two-class society." That ultimately costs money Nothing.
From Gorillas it is said that the document is only "a draft" that has not yet been finally decided.
One does not want to comment on details before the negotiations with the works council.
