Ricard and Nutella consolidate their leading position

2022-07-25T17:37:09.810Z

The 1 liter bottle of aniseed and the 1 kg jar of spread are the best-selling references on the shelves.

Unbeatable: the 1 liter bottle of Ricard remains the best-selling reference in French supermarkets.

In the first half of the year, it achieved total sales of 127 million euros, according to the NielsenIQ ranking of consumer products.

It is ahead of the pack of 6 bottles of Cristaline (118 million) and the 1.75 l bottle of Coca-Cola (72 million).

Excluding drinks, the 1 kg jar of Nutella remains the leader (40 million) ahead of Caprice des Dieux (31.5 million).

While the study confirms the position of the two leading references, it notes a significant change compared to the first half of 2021. Nearly half of the brands in the top 100 have seen their turnover fall, while overall sales in supermarkets increased by 0.6%.

This result is explained by the massive presence of beverages in the ranking, particularly in the top 50. Spirits, beers, waters and sodas grabbed the first ten places.
