Thousands of Bank Hapoalim employees say enough to the violence and congestion in the branches: the Bank Hapoalim employees' organization is taking protest steps against the series of cases of violence and congestion faced by the bank's employees.
The bank's official data shows that in the first half of 2022, about 470 cases of violence (verbal and physical) occurred, while only in the past month of June, about 95 cases of violence against bank employees were recorded.
As part of the protest, all 180 bank branches from north to south, the counseling centers and the call center will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, July 27, 2022, until 11:00 a.m. to receive the public and answer telephone calls.
The protest measures follow repeated appeals by the workers' organization to the bank's management to address the alarming phenomenon, and following the fact that the management decided to refrain from taking action on this issue.
The first appeal to the bank's management, in which the workers' organization warned about the overloads and the violence, was about six months ago.

In recent times, there has been a considerable worsening of the workloads faced by the bankers following the cuts made by the bank's management in the personnel position in the branch system, at a time when the number of clients and tasks is increasing.
The workloads in the branches inevitably cause damage to the quality of the service provided to the public and as a result also lead to incidents of violence on the part of customers who are not satisfied with the way of treatment or the amount of time they are required to wait at the branch to receive service.
Despite the serious situation, the bank's management intends to implement at this time another and dramatic cut plan that will lead to a further increase in workloads and as a result may also lead to a further escalation in the cases of violence.

: "We have constantly warned the bank's management that the cuts it is making in the workforce are causing serious burdens and directly affecting cases of violence against the bankers, who are doing their best under the challenging conditions. Unfortunately, this scenario is materializing and every day the branch employees and service providers are faced with a disparaging and humiliating attitude and cases of violence. These cases must stop and the bank's management must put the safety of the employees at the top of its priorities."
