If a listed company with equal co-determination has more than three members on the board, at least one of them must be a woman.
A corresponding law was passed in 2021 - and will come into force in August 2022 after a transitional period.
Companies that do not comply face a “heavy fine”.
According to a report, things could now get tight for seven Dax and MDax companies: there is still not a single woman on the board of directors.
This is the result of an evaluation by the personnel consultancy Russel Reynolds Associates, about which the "Handelsblatt" reports.
According to the report, the following companies do not yet have a woman on their board of directors:
MTU AeroEngines
Munich Re
Sartorius
freenet
Lanxess
kion
Ströer
When the Management Positions Act passed the Bundestag in August 2021 after a long coalition dispute between the CDU/CSU and SPD, around 70 companies were affected, of which around 30 had no women on the board at the time.
