The 2022 elections will be held in about three months, and although it is the fifth election in three years, it seems that the main issue of the election remains exactly the same, so that the political system is divided into two camps - Netanyahu's opponents versus his supporters.

In order to try to break the invincible tie in which we are all prisoners, we approached several Knesset members from different parties and asked them a number of identical questions that deal with a subject that hurts all of us - the cost of living and the housing crisis.

We started our journey with the Minister of the Interior, Ayelet Shaked - and the one who entered the Knesset on the basis of the representative of the independents, Deputy Minister Avia Kara.

Seven economic reforms

What will you do on your first day on the job?

"Yamina and her friends have always entered their offices with an organized work plan that leads a political, social and economic agenda that time and time again has proven itself to be good for Israel. It will be the same this time."

How will you handle the cost of living?

"We have already begun to deal with the cost of living. In just one year, we implemented 7 huge economic reforms that open the market to competition, remove huge barriers and jump the economy forward. The fruits of these reforms will be seen in the coming months in the imported products - food - electricity - pharma - clothing and more.

In addition , we are already seeing that more and more businesses are entering the game and promoting competition along with the improvement of government services. These reforms will from now on save tens of billions every year for the state and citizens. The solution to lowering prices in Israel is competition - such a thing does not happen in one day, but with professional and responsible work as we have proven that we know do and more will be done.

The reform in business licensing and the many amendments made in the decree and promoted by Minister Ayelet Shaked, make it easier for the new players to enter the market and allow the business owners to concentrate on their business efficiency and not on unnecessary bureaucracy.

The reform in business licensing and the many amendments made to the decree promoted by Minister Shaked, make it easier for new players to enter the market and allow business owners to concentrate on their business efficiency and not deal with unnecessary bureaucracy.

This revolution brings prices down directly by importers, restaurateurs, manufacturers and almost all types of independents.

The solution to lowering the rampant prices in Israel (and the world) is competition - and this does not happen in one day.

But in professional, tremendous and responsible work as we have proven that we know how to do and we will do more."

Deputy Minister Abir Kara: "We planted the first trees to streamline the economy" (Photo: Niv Kantor)

Paragon: "The Minister of Finance was not alarmed by our pace of action..."

What is your vision for Israel's economy for the coming years?

"We have planted the first trees to streamline the economy and in a few months the citizens will be able to reap the fruits of the price reduction. In just one year we have brought about a significant revolution in the Israeli economy, but there is still a lot of hard work ahead of us.

In the coming days we will publish the economic plan Aliyah, we have been working for a long time - a comprehensive and practical plan to address In four important issues for the Israeli economy: housing, transportation and infrastructure, education and streamlining the work of the government."

How do you intend to solve the housing crisis?

"Our detailed plan will be published very soon, but I can already say that the housing chapter includes: the change in the taxation system used in Israel, regulatory streamlining, including the shortening of planning and licensing procedures for the purpose of promoting projects that are stuck in Israel, significant moves in the areas of urban renewal, and in-depth treatment of the public housing mechanism is required.

In addition, the Minister of the Interior promoted moves to increase the supply of residential units, such as: Shaked's alternative to TMA 38, which allows for a significant increase in the percentage of construction and providing a response to the public's needs, updating the density policy in urban settlements and Schedule 1 to TMA 35.

Minister Shaked worked vigorously to fulfill the The empty lines in the planning committees. I ordered the preparation of a salary increase plan that will create competition between the private and public sectors. This move will attract quality personnel to the local and district committees, and as a result shorten the planning and licensing procedures, in order to respond to the demands we are all experiencing in the current housing crisis, without, of course, giving up on the quality of planning.

These moves will lead to sanity in housing prices in Israel and a fast and high-quality rate of construction growth and renewal as the citizens deserve.

In addition, Minister Shaked promoted moves to increase the supply of housing units. We are working vigorously to fill the empty ranks in the planning committees, with the aim of shortening the planning and licensing procedures and providing A response to demand".

An action on which you would like to praise the current Minister of Finance?

"The Minister of Finance was not alarmed by the tremendous pace of action of members of the right and ignored the many pressures of those with interests, who are trying to prevent reforms that will reduce the pocket of every citizen in the near future at the expense of very powerful entities in the economy.

Our actions in one year included 7 tremendous economic reforms under the leadership of the Deputy Minister Abir Kara, removing significant barriers in the Ministry of Religious Affairs under the leadership of Deputy Minister Matan Kahana and strengthening the position of the local government through hard work in the Ministry of the Interior of Minister Shaked."
