Following on from yesterday's announcement by Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David regarding a consumer boycott of the giant companies that participate in raising product prices, today the Histadrut published an instruction sheet for the public that explains the brands that have become more expensive, and a call to consume alternative products whose prices remain unchanged.
The announcement is the continuation of the Histadrut's struggle in the cost of living, and it was sent to about 800,000 members of the Histadrut in emails and text messages. The move comes as part of a media campaign under the title "Stop being suckers.
Buy smart and fight the cost of living," which aims to make it clear to the public that each and every one has the power to influence the lowering of the cost of living in the form of purchasing cheaper substitutes for products that have become more expensive.

Moreover, in the coming days the members of the Histadrut will go to the shopping centers throughout the country and to the supermarkets, where they will distribute information materials to the general public - how to reduce the shopping basket.
It is not yet clear whether the Histadrut intends to take further steps, but it seems that it has been a long time since such a large organization mobilized for an economic struggle that does not directly relate to employee representation but rather to one of the hottest issues in the public discourse in Israel, so it is likely that the move will also have opponents from among industrialists and merchants, a significant portion of whose employees are incorporated in the Histadrut.

, said: "The support I receive from many Israeli citizens only strengthens me and the movement I am leading.
The Histadrut will use all the means at its disposal in order to curb the cost of living and return prices to a reasonable level," the Histadrut chairman concluded.
The Histadrut announced that it will continue and update regarding actions as part of the move to curb the cost of living in Israel.
