To admire them, the walker will have to wait for sunrise.
And for good reason: the municipality ordered the extinction of the night lighting of 200 historical monuments.
Each spot must be turned off manually, one after the other.
Cost of the operation: no less than 40,000 euros.
But no matter the budget:
it is the energy savings that push us to take this measure, and not the immediate profitability
, explains the city, which underlines that the lighting of the buildings concerned consumes
"around 200,000 kilowatt hours per year"
.
An impressive figure which, however, only corresponds to the average annual consumption of 200 French people, according to the electricity supplier comparator Selectra.
