As the Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) confirms, the RBB director Patricia Schlesinger is resigning from her position as chairwoman of the ARD with immediate effect.
West German Broadcasting (WDR) will take over the ARD presidency at short notice until the end of the year.
At the upcoming ARD general meeting in Bremen in September, a new chairman can be appointed who would be in office from January 1st, 2023.
Südwestrundfunk has declared its willingness to take on this task.
