The Director of the Directorate of Crops and Plant Protection of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture Roman Nekrasov announced that Russian farmers have so far managed to harvest 78 million tons of different grains.
We were able to guarantee the country's food security from grain crops, RIA Novosti news agency quoted Nekrasov as saying, noting that difficulties with weather and various problems are being resolved and are no longer considered among the decisive factors in the development of our grain production.
According to official forecasts announced by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture earlier, the grain harvest in the current year 2022 was expected to reach 130 million tons, including 87 million tons of wheat, which is a record in the history of Russia.
It is noteworthy that Russia produced 120.656 million tons of grain last year, of which 75.94 million tons were wheat.
