Damascus - Sana
The General Authority for Taxes and Fees issued a decision obligating those charged with the customs clearance profession to use the electronic linking mechanism of the issued invoices to determine their work number so that the QR code is adopted on each issued invoice and the link with the central database of the tax administration.
According to the decision, which SANA obtained a copy of, those charged with the customs clearance profession must use one of the accounting programs approved by the tax administration to keep records and issue invoices electronically.
The authority also gave the aforementioned taxpayers a period of 20 days to implement this decision from the day following the date of notification, including the testing and auditing phase.
Last February, the Ministry of Finance announced the completion of an electronic mechanism for bills issued by taxpayers that guarantees the rights of customers, sellers and service providers by documenting sales and purchases, avoiding non-registration of accounts, and ensuring that each party in the commercial process receives its dues, including the state’s public treasury.
