Instead of the skyscrapers of La Défense or the City, it is the Aiguille du Midi and Mont Blanc that stare down Whympr's office, nestled in the heart of Chamonix.
“Other companies, like us, have settled here to take advantage of this incredible setting,” smiles Tim MacLean, the company's founder, who was once an Apple executive in Paris and London.
He dropped everything in 2016 to release his smartphone application the following year, whose ambition is to revolutionize mountain getaways, from the most technical (mountaineering, climbing, ski touring) to the most family-friendly (hiking, snowshoeing ).
