In addition, the Directorate of Emergency Management in central China's Hubei Province announced that the severe drought that has continued since last June has affected about 4.2 million people in the province.
As of last Tuesday, the drought conditions caused by the continuous hot weather and the lack of rainfall affected 78 counties in the province, and it became difficult for a total of 151,300 people to access drinking water, and nearly 397,200 hectares of crops were affected due to the lack of water.
During the period between June 1 and August 14, temperatures in Hubei remained unusually high, according to the provincial meteorological observatory, which recorded a number of days with a high temperature of 31 days, with a temperature rise of 35 degrees Celsius and above.
