“We will maintain a tariff shield in 2023”, he indicated this Saturday on France Inter.
“I am preparing the budget and my state of mind is to say that we must not derail either the French bill or our public finances.
In 2023, if we did nothing, the electricity bill would increase by 100%, or €120/month.
We will block, there too, at a certain level of increase, ”assures the former government spokesperson.
Gabriel Attal affirmed that "the arbitrations are in progress" and "must be rendered in the coming days".

The measures of this "tariff shield" taken by the government to contain household and business bills in France have made it possible to halve the effect of soaring energy prices on inflation, according to a study by INSEE published Thursday.

"There will be a rise in energy prices at the beginning of 2023, but it will be contained and reasonable compared to this worst-case scenario", indicated this week the Minister of Economy Bruno Le Maire.
“Specific provisions to support the most vulnerable”
Elisabeth Borne had promised on Saturday that the executive would "not let energy prices explode" for households, while the Minister of the Economy had assured that the increase in electricity and gas in 2023 would be " contained".
Once the tariff shield is finished at the end of 2022, "we will keep devices to cushion energy prices", while prices have exploded on the wholesale markets, "and we will take specific measures to support the most fragile", had indicated the Prime Minister in an interview with our newspaper.
The regulated gas tariff was raised last autumn but has since been frozen, while that of electricity increased by 4% in February.
On the wholesale market, prices have exploded.
Those of electricity for 2023 broke a record for France last week, reaching more than 1000 euros per megawatt / hour (MWh), against around 85 euros per MWh a year ago.
Gas prices have also exploded in Europe, approaching historic records in recent weeks (345 euros per MWh in session).
