“Big Business” N°96: We will spend the winter, but badly

Dear subscribers,

I resume this letter after a long summer break and with the impression of finding after the holidays the same topical subjects as before!

In this new school year, we will therefore still be talking a lot about energy, the always impossible budgetary sobriety, the hunt for superprofits, the rediscovery of inflation or even the mysteries of the governance of public companies.

Let's start with energy, and more specifically electricity.

The news in this area is so dense that I hardly know where to start.

Perhaps the best thing is to try to bring some clarity to the situation.

What's going on ?

We are going through what the Anglo-Saxons call a “perfect storm”, a perfect storm.

On the one hand, the demand for electricity is increasing, under the economic effect of the post-Covid recovery and the beginnings of the major electrification movement which is announced as part of the fight against climate change.
