Hungary has warned that the proposal to set the price of Russian gas, which is being promoted by some European Union countries, will cause a halt to energy supplies to Europe.
And RIA Novosti news agency quoted Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto as saying that "the setting of the ceiling proposed by the European Union for the prices of Russian gas will lead to an immediate halt to its supplies to Europe," adding that "these proposals contradict the interests of Hungary and the interest of Europe in general."
In turn, Belgian Prime Minister Alexandre de Croo considered that "to put an end to the price of Russian gas only is a purely political decision," adding that his country rejects that.
Earlier, a source in the European Union ruled out that most of the EU countries would support the idea of limiting the price of Russian gas imported by Europe.
