This room, which has been in deficit for years, was bought in December 2021 by the French hotel giant Accor from the collective catering group Sodexo.
Created in 1946 and famous for its house troupe, the "Bluebell girls", dancers dressed in feathers, the Lido has suffered a lot - like the whole sector - from closures linked to the health crisis: the turnover of cabarets and music halls had collapsed by 80% in 2020.

Instead of reviews, the new owner of the premises has decided to offer musical performances, he announced in the spring.
The first show presented at the Lido2Paris will thus be a production of the musical “Cabaret”, from December 1, 2022.
In addition, the former general manager of the Châtelet, Jean-Luc Choplin, who was also, among other things, the programmer of the musical Seine, was appointed president and artistic director of the hall.
"This new Lido2Paris will offer original creations and musical theater events in a cabaret spirit each year," he said, quoted in the press release.
The current director of operations of the Lido, Jean-François Richard, becomes the general manager of the place.
