Today, the US Energy Information Administration announced that oil and distillate inventories in the United States rose last week and gasoline inventories decreased.
Reuters quoted the administration's data as saying that "crude stocks rose 2.4 million barrels to 429.6 million barrels in the week ending September 9, while gasoline stocks fell by 1.8 million barrels over the past week to 213 million barrels."
The data showed that the net US imports of crude oil last week fell by 1.07 million barrels per day to 2.28 million barrels per day.
