Tariff shield: "It's always better than nothing" ... The aid promised by Élisabeth Borne is only half reassuring

After the Prime Minister's announcement on Wednesday to contain the rise in gas and electricity prices to 15% in January and February


Elisabeth Borne's press conference on the tariff shield this Wednesday had barely ended when Philippe took out his calculator.

With the contained increase in gas and electricity prices in 2023, his bill will swell from 130 to 149.5 euros per month.

"Since the average increase would be 120% if we do nothing according to the government, I tell myself that 15% is not so bad", he notes, preferring to see the glass "half full ".

On the other hand, he claims that this shield be extended to “all heating methods”, including the wood pellets which supply his pellet boiler, installed last winter.
