The results of industrial data released by the China National Shipbuilding Industry Association showed that the country continued to lead the international scene in shipbuilding during the first eight months of this year.
The data, according to the Chinese news agency Xinhua, indicated that the volume of shipbuilding production in the country recorded 23.94 million dwt during the mentioned period, which represents 45.4 percent of the world total.
Shipbuilding orders in China during the same period totaled 102.03 million tons, an increase of 11.5 percent year on year, with volume accounting for 47.7 percent of the market share globally. China's share in the high-quality ship types expanded further, with LNG ships accounting for about 30% of the global market share.
