Wall Street's major indices opened lower amid fears that a Federal Reserve (Central Bank) interest rate hike could push the US economy into a recession.
Reuters reported that the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.32 percent to 30,722.86 points, the Standard & Poor's 500 index fell (0.60) percent to 3,849.91 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 0.96 percent to 11,338.75 points.
