The second-hand market has gone crazy.
Not only have prices soared — they have increased by around 20% over the past eighteen months — but a basic economic rule sometimes ceases to apply: a used vehicle no longer necessarily costs less than the same vehicle when new.
“Today, some second-hand models approach or even exceed the selling price of the same vehicle leaving the factory, confirms Laurent Potel, CEO and co-founder of Reezocar, a used car sales platform.
