The Chinese manufacturers have made an appointment at the Mondial de l'Automobile, which opens on October 17 in Paris.
The City of Light is going to shine the spotlight on their SUVs and compact battery-powered models at prices much lower than those of their Western rivals.
Geely, Saic, Great Wall Motors and Dongfeng are ahead of Vietnamese newcomer Vinfast.
Nearly 500,000 vehicles (including trucks and buses) were imported into Europe last year, according to the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA), 153% more than in 2020. China is hot on the heels of Turkey, export leader in Europe with 628,000 vehicles.
In value, sales of Chinese models totaled 6.2 billion euros.
