Wall Street's major indices opened lower today as investors worried that aggressive steps taken by the Federal Reserve to curb inflation could push the country's economy into recession.
Reuters reported that the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.18 percent to 2,9536.84 points, the Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 0.28 percent to 3,682.72 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 0.32 percent to 10,833.38 points.
