The board of directors of Société Générale, chaired by Lorenzo Bini Smaghi, is meeting this Friday to choose its future managing director.
According to concordant sources, the big favorite to take over from Frédéric Oudéa is Slawomir Krupa, the head of the finance and investment banking activities of the Defense group.
His candidacy would have been preferred by the appointments committee to that of Sébastien Proto, who manages the retail banking business.
The bank does not comment.
