Tesla boss Elon Musk likes to be in the public eye.
Sometimes he makes headlines with a failed Twitter purchase, sometimes he jokes publicly about a possible purchase of Manchester United, sometimes he jokes that he wants to take over Coca-Cola and mix cocaine into the drink again.
When it comes to his own company, Tesla, however, Musk is far more reserved.
Tesla has now received the negative "Closed Auster" award from the Network Research Association of journalists for its non-transparent behavior towards the media and the public.
Examples of this lack of transparency are the prevention of reporting through the selective selection of reporters and the non-response to press inquiries, according to the network statement.
Tesla has not yet commented on this.

There was no response to an invitation from the journalists' association to Tesla to accept the award and to give a speech of thanks or counter-speech, according to the award ceremony, which was broadcast live.
In March, Tesla opened a factory in Grünheide near Berlin, which has been producing electric cars ever since.
Tesla has dissolved its press department in the USA.
Since 2002, the Recherche network has been awarding the Negative Prize to people and institutions.
Previous winners have included ADAC, the Catholic Church, Facebook, Aldi, Fifa, the Bavarian state government and Kremlin ruler Vladimir Putin.
