"Aren't you going to pee in your panties?" : in video, the sexist attack of an elected official in full council arouses indignation

Friday, September 30, the deputy mayor of Metz, Khalifé Khalifé, had fun with an elected opposition member, through remarks deemed inappropriate.

The phrase "fell so well", we hear it justified.

Friday, September 30, during a city council in Metz, the first deputy mayor LR, Khalifé Khalifé, made inappropriate comments to an elected opposition member.

Discussing security issues, and in particular the increase in the number of police in the city, the politician retorted, under the embarrassed laughter of the assembly: "Madame Picard, you are not going to pee in your panties in front of everybody ?".

A remark deemed immediately sexist and inappropriate on the part of Charlotte Picard, who demanded an apology in stride.

“There is no need to talk about my body and my urology within the municipal council,” she replied, pointing to a “replica expression Charlotte Picard, elected opposition socialist, denouncing everything to act disrespectful".

And Khalifé Khalifé outbid: "You excuse me, but it fell so well".

"We get up and we break"

Charlotte Picard was fortunately able to count on the support of her allies, including the elected ecologist Marina Verronneau.

"Reminding a municipal councilor about the fact that she would 'wee in her panties' is demeaning and infantilizing (...).

You need to apologize.

(…) I am terribly shocked”, she intervened.

However, faced with an elected official who did not seem to understand the outrage of his words, the latter then urged his counterparts to leave the room.

"It's perfect, we'll finish earlier," replied the deputy mayor.

In the process, Marina Verronneau shared a post on Twitter to denounce this attack, launched on a woman, in a professional context.

“Yesterday in city council, our first deputy found it funny to use sexist humiliation.

We ask him to apologize, once, twice, he refuses, so we get up and break up!”, she said, referring to the reaction of actress Adèle Haenel, during the Cesar 2021 ceremony, which had rewarded Roman Polanski despite accusations of rape against him.
