The Moscow Stock Exchange index rose in today's trading by about 4 percent.

The Russian RT website stated that the index of the ruble-denominated MYSEX rose during today's session by 2.93 percent, to 2034.17 points, while the dollar-denominated stock index "ARTS" rose by 4.27 percent, to 1,100.27 points.

The rise came after a decline recorded last week, due to speculators exploiting the psychological factor in the market.

The Russian currency continues to rise in the local currency market, as the dollar exchange rate fell by 37 kopecks to 55.07 rubles, while the euro exchange rate fell by 3.8 rubles to 52.85 rubles.
