Gold prices rose today in the local market by 5 thousand pounds from the price they settled on since the first of this month, due to the significant increase in the global ounce to 1710 dollars.
According to the bulletin issued by the Craft Society for Crafting and Making Jewelry in Damascus today, a gram of 21 carat gold recorded a selling price of 225 thousand Syrian pounds and a purchase price of 224,500 pounds, while a gram of 18 karat selling price amounted to 192857 pounds and a purchase of 192357 pounds.
The association stressed that the craftsmen should abide by the price issued by it, calling on citizens who wish to buy gold not to pay for it except according to the bulletin.
The price of gold locally was recorded on the first of this month, the selling price of 220 thousand pounds for a gram of 21 karat gold and the purchase price of 219,500 pounds, while the 18-carat gram selling price reached 188571 pounds, and the purchase of 188071 pounds.
