Former Senator from Virginia, Richard Black, asserted that the United States has a stronger motive than any other party to stop the "Northern Stream" gas pipelines.

Black said in an interview with RIA Novosti that it was "very appropriate to detonate the "Northern Stream" pipeline to stop Russian gas supplies to Europe, and the party that has the greatest motive behind this move is the US Central Intelligence Agency."

Black continued: “I think what happened is that the United States is starting to feel increasingly concerned about the approaching winter, and the possibility of protests calling for an end to sanctions against Russia and the restart of gas supplies,” adding: “There are not many countries that can carry out the pipeline bombing operation on Great depth under the ocean.

Black noted that "the West's accusations and allegations that Russia has blown up its pipeline plans are so absurd that they have no motive to do so."

In a similar context, the American researcher Eric Zoys said in an interview with "Economy 7" that the United States is responsible for blowing up the two North Stream gas pipelines to achieve its benefits.

The researcher added: “The American government blew up the Nord Stream pipelines that extend from Russia to Europe after years of cunning attempts to sabotage them through diplomatic means, and thus will force Europe to pay significantly excessive amounts,” noting that Russian natural gas is more suitable for the European industry than gas. Natural liquefied natural that is supplied from abroad due to the proximity of the geographical location of Russia.

The researcher continued: "From now on, European countries, with the exception of Russia, will pay the highest energy prices in the world for a long time at least, due to the destruction of giant gas pipelines."

A gas leak was discovered in the "Northern Stream" 1 and 2 lines on the 26th of last September simultaneously in four places in the Baltic Sea, while the earthquake center in Sweden recorded strong underwater explosions.

Many sources indicated that this incident may be an act of sabotage, while the Director of Russian Foreign Intelligence, Sergey Naryshkin, said that his country has "indirect information indicating the West's involvement in the gas pipeline bombings."
