Shortage of gasoline: here are the restrictions in force in Île-de-France and in the Oise

2022-10-08T21:27:29.116Z

Three departments in the Paris region have decided to ban the sale of fuel in jerry can type containers.

Part of the French service stations are marked by gasoline shortages following a strike started several days ago in the refineries of TotalEnergies, leading the prefects of certain Ile-de-France departments to take measures.

Almost everywhere, the queues stretch for tens of meters in front of the stations that deliver the precious fuel.

And faced with motorists who fill cans for fear of running out of gas in the coming weeks, the State has had to take measures in certain departments.

Here are the restrictions in force in Île-de-France and Oise.

oise

The prefecture of Oise published this Saturday at the end of the day a decree prohibiting the sale of gasoline in any container of the jerrican or canister type and giving priority to caregivers.

“Petrol station operators will set up priority access for the benefit of medical, paramedical and medico-social personnel

provided with a professional card or a certificate from their employer”, specifies the prefecture, which calls on the drivers to go to the stations only in case of strict necessity.

“The delivery of service stations can be ensured during the weekend”, assures the prefecture.

Val d'Oise

Faced with "a massive influx of drivers in the stations" of the department, the prefecture of Val-d'Oise also banned the sale of gasoline in containers until October 12.

A sign of the palpable tension, at the end of the morning, a man pulled out a hammer and threatened the gas station attendant at a Deuil-la-Barre station because the latter had let a nurse pass.

The driver was arrested and taken into custody.

Seine-Saint-Denis

The same restrictions have been taken by the Seine-Saint-Denis prefecture, which also invites residents to show good citizenship in order to avoid any saturation phenomenon.

Seine et Marne

Restrictive measures are currently not relevant in Seine-et-Marne.

Nevertheless, the prefect admits that “possible avenues of reflection” are underway on this subject, such as the ban on the sale of gasoline in jerry cans.

“But nothing has been decided yet.

Yvelines

No restrictions are in force in the Yvelines at the moment, the prefecture reporting a "stable" and even "improving" situation even if the situation is the subject of "great vigilance".

This Saturday around 2 p.m., of the 142 service stations in the department, 54 were out of diesel, 16 out of gasoline and 12 out of stock.
