Gold recorded a volatile performance near its lowest level in the week today, with its prices moving within a limited range, as investors awaited the major inflation report in the United States.
According to Reuters, spot gold prices fell 0.2 percent to $1,664.60 an ounce, and US gold futures fell 0.2 percent to $1,671.90.
The rise in interest rates in the United States reduces the attractiveness of the precious metal, which does not generate returns.
As for other precious metals, silver prices fell 1.8 percent to $19.3 an ounce, platinum fell 1.4 percent to $886.36 and palladium fell 1.5 percent to $2139.59.
