Fiverr (NYSE: FVRR), which is revolutionizing the way the world works together, has discovered what is behind the gradual return to offices around the world.

According to the results of a survey conducted for Fiverr Business - Fiverr's platform intended for medium and large businesses, and conducted among a thousand senior managers in the American economy, and a thousand employees from companies of various sizes, it appears that managers believe that the motivation of employees increases when their managers are around them, and that they tend to take shorter breaks.

According to the results of the second survey, which was conducted among a thousand American workers, 42% of the workers said they would consider quitting if they were forced to return to work from the office 5 days a week.

"Firrer's survey reinforces the notion that employees want flexibility and autonomy," said Shani Malbin, director of Fiverr Business.

"The average American worker doesn't want their manager to monitor them all the time or have their break times measured. That's why we continue to see more and more American workers moving to work as full-time freelancers. Freelancers can find flexibility and interest in Fiverr Business, the platform that connects businesses with top talent" .

Some of the salient findings emerging from the information collected in the survey

  • Managers prefer their employees to work from the office, so they know where they are.

A third of the managers who responded to the survey (33%) want their employees to return to the office for the entire work week, because they think that their motivation is higher when they know that management is around them.

About 1 in 4 managers (24%) say they want their employees to return to the office for the entire work week, because in this situation there is a higher probability that they will go on shorter breaks.

  • Managers in large companies are primarily interested in their employees returning to the office for the entire work week.

67% of the managers of the large companies (500+ employees) surveyed and 57% of the managers in companies earning over 500 million dollars a year, stated that they were interested in their employees working from the office 5 days a week.

  • Many managers want their employees to come back to the office to justify their fixed expenses.

    • One of four managers who responded to the survey (25%) was interested in having his employees return to work in the office to justify spending on it.

42% of the managers surveyed say that their employees communicate more easily with the computing infrastructure (computers, software, IT, printers, etc.) when they work in the office.

  • The employees say that minor benefits will not bring them back to work from the office. 61% of the American workers who responded to the survey and said that they are interested in working remotely, say that they will return to work in the office provided that they receive a salary increase.

21% stated that no incentive would make them want to return to work from the office. 42% of the employees who responded to the survey say that they would consider resigning if they were forced to return to work from the office full-time.

  • The survey was conducted in partnership with Censuswide.
